Job summary

Coframe in San Francisco is seeking a Backend System Architect to help build the platforms powering our product. This role is based in our San Francisco office, where the team collaborates five days per week to deliver reliable production software and scalable data workflows.

You’ll own technical projects from conception through deployment, design distributed systems, APIs, and data components, and work closely with founders and AI teams to translate complex requirements into robust,

Qualifications

3+ years of experience building and operating backend systems in production.
Comfort working in a fast-moving startup environment.
Experience designing distributed or data-intensive systems and APIs.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and operate reliable backend services, APIs.
Own technical projects from architecture through production deployment.
Build systems that process high volumes of events and customer data.
Improve interoperability, reliability, performance, observability, and scalability of the platform.
Make architectural decisions balancing speed, simplicity, and long-term maintainability.
Collaborate with product and customer-facing teams to translate needs into platform capabilities.
Help establish engineering standards and shape the technical foundation of the company.
