Job summary

Amazon Shopping is seeking a Software Development Engineer to advance backend systems and service architectures powering agentic AI features. You will design, implement, and scale distributed services using languages like C++, Java, C#, and Perl, collaborating with researchers, TPMs, and engineers to deliver responsive experiences to customers.

This role is based in Palo Alto, CA, with a salary range of $165,200 to $223,600 USD annually.

Qualifications

3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
2+ years of non-internship design or architecture of systems
1+ years of software development engineer or related experience
1+ years of multi-tier, distributed software applications experience
1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
Experience programming with at least one programming language
Knowledge of ML and LLM fundamentals including transformer architecture

Responsibilities

Architect, design, and develop agentic services powered by large language models.
Build expertise in online service architecture, API development, and distributed systems.
Design and implement large scale distributed AI applications and service orchestration patterns.
Contribute to prioritization, estimation, and sprint planning activities.
