Job summary

Amazon is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer with backend and online service expertise to architect and develop agentic services powered by large language models. You'll build expertise in distributed systems, API development, and service orchestration, collaborating with engineers, scientists, and TPMs to deliver responsive AI-powered shopping experiences.

Qualifications

5+ years of professional software development experience.
5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language.
5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
Experience as a mentor or tech lead or leading an engineering team.
Knowledge of Machine Learning and LLM fundamentals, including transformer architecture, training/inference lifecycles, and optimization techniques.

Responsibilities

Architect, design, and develop agentic services and applications powered by large language models.
Build expertise in online service architecture, API development, and distributed systems that power responsive agentic AI applications at scale.
Contribute to prioritization, estimation, and sprint planning activities.
