Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Portland, OR is hiring a Software Development Engineer to build the server-side systems powering Kiro Web.

You will own the backend that spawns and manages kiro-cli processes, handles JSON-RPC messaging, and exposes REST APIs for multi-agent coordination. Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience in systems.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, distributed software applications using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the Kiro Web server (Fastify/Node.js/TypeScript) — session manager, ACP client adapter, WebSocket gateway, and REST API.
• Implement the process-per-session architecture: spawning kiro-cli ACP child processes and JSON-RPC communication.
• Build the multi-agent team orchestration layer — team session lifecycle and inter-agent routing.
• Design and implement the WebSocket fan-out system for real-time notifications.
• Build and operate Kiro's distribution system — metadata services, CDN config, and release automation.
• Implement tool approval interception and frontend integration for user decisions.
• Write tests, monitoring, and participate in on-call rotations.
• Contribute to API design and architecture reviews.
