Job summary

FreeWheel, a Comcast company, is seeking a Backend Python Developer to design, develop, and integrate scalable services that support DSP campaigns. You will contribute across the SDLC, own production deployments, mentor engineers, and help improve code quality and reliability.

You should have 2+ years in Python and Django, RESTful APIs with Django, and experience with Kubernetes/EKS and AWS. A Bachelor's degree in CS or a related field is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with Python and Django
• Experience creating/developing RESTful APIs using Django
• Experience with PHP
• Experience with Kubernetes/EKS and AWS, owning production deployments at scale for critical backend services
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relatable technical field or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and integrate innovative software solutions that align with business needs
• Analyze system requirements and customize applications for optimal functionality
• Assist with software update processes and roll-outs of software releases
• Mentor junior engineers and promote technical excellence within the team
• Collaborate with QA to ensure software meets specifications and deliver high-quality, reliable applications
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in software applications and systems
• Synthesize market research and industry trends to inform project strategies
• Conduct training sessions for operational staff on internally developed applications
• Operate with independent judgment on significant matters
• Maintain regular attendance and accommodate nights/weekends or variable schedules as needed
