Job summary

OpenAI is hiring backend-focused Product Engineers to build infrastructure and customer-facing workflows that enable developers and AI agents to operate reliably in parallel. You will work primarily in Go on APIs, orchestration, and long-running tasks, owning outcomes from problem discovery to shipping and improvement.

You will design durable stateful workflows, secure execution paths, and scalable server ecosystems while partnering with frontend, infrastructure, and security teams to deliver

Qualifications

Strong Go skills and practical experience building production backend systems.
Experience designing and operating scalable backend services.
Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, containers, and devops practices.

Responsibilities

Work directly with customers to build developer and security workflows and verify fixes.
Build Go services and APIs for provisioning cloud environments and integrating with developer tools.
Design orchestration for long-running, parallel work with durable state, retries, and cancellation.
Ensure security in execution workflows through permissions, isolation, and auditability.
Own production quality including testing, safe rollouts, observability, and performance.
Collaborate with frontend and design teams to create usable backend capabilities.
