Tinder is seeking a mid-level Backend Platform Engineer to build and optimize scalable services that power core Tinder workflows. You will work on distributed systems, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and influence the platform roadmap.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of industry experience, strong CS fundamentals, and fluency in at least one backend language (Java, Node.js, Go or C++). This on-site role in San Francisco offers growth and impact at a global dating platform.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent with 2+ years of industry experience.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures and algorithms.
• Experience designing and building distributed backend systems for high-traffic workloads.
• Ability to handle ambiguous requirements with prioritization and execution focus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and operate scalable distributed services on Kubernetes, ECS or similar.
• Collaborate with multiple teams to expand the service platform.
• Influence team roadmap and product development.
• Recruit, mentor and grow other team members.
