Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Backend Capability Product Specialist to own the backend platform, API ecosystem, and third‑party integration layer of our SaaS product suite. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, business strategy, and market intelligence to drive scalable, interoperable systems powering both internal capabilities and external partner integrations.

Qualifications

7+ years of product management experience.
4+ years focused on backend systems, APIs, or platform products.
Proven track record delivering SaaS platform features at scale in a B2B/enterprise context.
Deep understanding of RESTful API design, webhooks, async messaging, and modern integration patterns.
Hands-on experience with API management platforms (e.g., Apigee, AWS API Gateway, Kong, MuleSoft).

Responsibilities

Own the product roadmap for backend systems, APIs, and data platform capabilities.
Define API design standards, versioning strategies, and developer experience (DX) principles.
Drive the vision for a scalable, event-driven microservices architecture with engineering leads.
Establish and govern API governance frameworks including auth, rate limiting, and SLA commitments.
Lead strategy and execution for third‑party integrations and marketplace ecosystem development.
Collaborate with technical architects to evaluate interoperability standards (HL7 FHIR, SMART on FHIR, TEFCA).
