Wand AI is hiring a backend-leaning full-stack engineer to own the backend and data layer of a greenfield, customer-facing product. This role demands end-to-end architectural ownership and deep involvement in design decisions, with the team shipping features across the stack.

You will work in a fast-moving startup environment, leveraging AI coding tools to accelerate delivery while maintaining high standards for reliability and scalability.

• Strong backend fundamentals and data structures; ability to design scalable systems.
• Comfort across the stack to ship frontend features when needed.
• Real product sense for customer-facing experiences and internet scale.
• Technology-agnostic approach with a track record across multiple stacks.
• Genuine ownership: start-from-scratch impact and end-to-end delivery.
• Startup experience with dynamic environments and ambiguity.
• Fluency with AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code) in the workflow.

Responsibilities

• Own backend architecture end-to-end for a greenfield product: design services, data models, and APIs from scratch.
• Design scalable data structures and system architecture for a customer-facing product.
• Build and maintain backend services and APIs; leverage Go/Node.js or similar as needed.
• Contribute to frontend as required; ship features across the stack with real ownership.
• Lead architectural decisions and defend approach before implementation.
• Work in an AI-driven workflow to ship with tooling like Claude Code.
