Job summary

First National Bank of Omaha is seeking a Mid-Level Java Developer to join our ODS development team in Omaha, Nebraska. This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining backend services in a microservice-based platform running on AWS, with emphasis on Java and Spring Framework.

The ideal candidate will contribute to RESTful APIs, relational database design, and cloud deployment tasks, participate in Agile ceremonies, and collaborate with Product Owner and QA to deliver high-quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Eng, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 3–5 years of professional Java development experience.
• Hands-on Spring Framework (3.x/4.x) experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain backend services and APIs using Java and the Spring Framework.
• Collaborate Product Owner and QA to deliver high-quality features.
• Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code following team standards and best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, standups, retros).
• Troubleshoot and resolve defects and production issues (on call support is required).
• Contribute to technical documentation.
• Work with relational databases to design and optimize queries and schemas.
• Support the evolution of services within a microservice architecture, with opportunities to grow AWS and cloud deployment skills.
