Job summary

Match-Made-Tech is seeking a Software Backend Engineer focused on Java for a greenfield AI project in Irvine, CA. This contract role onsite Monday-Thursday with Fridays remote, paying $75-95 per hour and converting to full-time.

The team builds scalable backend services, microservices, and cloud-based workflows. You will own end-to-end backend components, collaborate across teams, and contribute to design, testing, and deployment.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Data Science required.
• Strong Agile experience.
• Java/J2EE, Spring, NodeJS/Typescript, or Python strong skills.
• Experience with RESTful services and APIs.
• Experience with databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server.
• Experience with microservices architecture.
• Experience with AWS services.
• Excellent communication and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end backend components from design to deployment.
• Translate requirements into architecture and code.
• Refactor for reusability and scalability.
• Collaborate with product and technical teams.
• Write tests and documentation.
• Present design decisions and defend them.
• Mentor junior engineers.
