Job summary

Everforth Apex is seeking a Backend Java Developer II to build scalable, reactive backend services using Java, Spring WebFlux, and Kafka. You will implement secure, efficient systems, manage event streams, and deploy on Tomcat in an onsite New Albany, Ohio setting.

You will work with Spring Boot (2.7+), Spring Security, MyBatis, JDBC, and Docker/Kubernetes, contributing to code quality via TDD and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
• 3-5 years of backend development experience with Java, Kafka, and Spring WebFlux.
• Experience building backends with Spring Boot and reactive WebFlux.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services using Java with Spring Boot (2.7+), incl. Spring Security.
• Utilize Spring WebFlux for non-blocking, reactive apps to enhance responsiveness.
• Manage Kafka-based event-driven architectures, including topic creation and Spring Boot integration.
• Create custom Kafka producers and consumers using Java and Spring Boot.
• Implement data management with MyBatis, JDBC, and SQL.
• Deploy applications on Tomcat with high availability and performance.
• Use Maven for dependency management and Docker for containerization.
• Adhere to test-driven development practices to ensure code quality.
