Job summary

McKesson Corporation in the Dallas–Fort Worth area seeks a Software Engineer III (P3) to design and build backend services using Java and Spring Boot, with frontend work in React/TypeScript. You will follow architectural standards and contribute reusable components for cross‑team adoption.

You will collaborate with senior engineers to deliver well‑documented services and APIs, connect to Databricks for analytics, and contribute to data pipelines while maintaining code quality and production

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of professionally relevant experience.
• Strong proficiency in Core Java and Spring Boot with REST controllers and data access.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement well-scoped backend services and shared components using Java and Spring Boot following established architectural patterns.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs with clear contracts and comprehensive documentation for domain team adoption.
• Implement event-driven integrations using Kafka to connect clinical workflows across services (e.g., order state changes, lab result notifications, patient data sync).
• Build data integration and pipeline components to connect to Databricks for analytics and clinical data processing.
• Write production-quality code against Oracle databases using JPA/Hibernate, focusing on query performance and data integrity.
• Contribute to core services, shared libraries, and frameworks used by multiple clinical teams.
• Ensure services are reusable and follow consistent API patterns and event schemas.
• Collaborate with domain teams to understand integration needs and adapt platform services for rapid development.
• Adopt platform conventions for API versioning, event contracts, and security standards.
• Build frontend integration layers with React and TypeScript to expose platform capabilities to end users.
• Develop unit/integration/API tests and participate in code reviews.
• Maintain technical documentation (Markdown, Mermaid, API specs).
• Use Dynatrace for log analysis and diagnostics; implement structured logging and telemetry.
