Job summary

Fun in New York is seeking a BackEnd Engineer to help architect and ship the backend services powering our Web3 payments infrastructure. This role focuses on high-performance, low-latency systems supporting asset conversion, identity verification, and cross-chain routing.

Location: Midtown, New York, NY (In-office Mon-Thurs, Remote Fridays). You’ll join a team at the intersection of financial infrastructure and product experience, shaping scale, reliability, and compliance for a global user base.

Qualifications

• Production backend systems experience with modern languages.
• Proficiency in TypeScript.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and database design.
• Experience with cloud platforms and containerization.
• CS fundamentals including data structures and algorithms.
• Strong debugging and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain high-performance APIs and backend services for Web3 payments.
• Build new features to advance product experience.
• Collaborate with product and protocol teams to architect solutions that meet business requirements.
• Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews to maintain engineering standards.
• Contribute to incident response and debugging production issues to ensure system reliability.
