Job summary

Jobot is hiring a Backend Software Engineer with expertise in TypeScript and Node.js to build and scale backend systems powering AI agents for a fintech startup. You will own critical components, ensure performance, reliability, and observability, and shape architecture with a hands-on approach.

You will collaborate with a skilled team and founders to deliver robust data pipelines, API integrations, and scalable infrastructure, while influencing engineering practices and product direction.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Backend Software Engineer or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of TypeScript and Node.js.
• Experience with production reliability, scalability, observability, data pipelines, API integration, and system design.
• Proficiency with AWS and PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with Git and version control.
• Excellent problem-solving and ability to design large-scale systems.
• Strong communication to convey complex technical concepts.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field preferred.
• Experience in Tech Services is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain efficient TypeScript and Node.js code.
• Ensure production reliability, scalability, and observability.
• Develop data pipelines and integrate APIs.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement fixes.
• Collaborate with team and stakeholders to meet business needs.
• Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle.
• Provide technical leadership for large-scale programs.
