Job summary

LaunchDarkly is seeking a Software Engineer on the Flag Delivery team to help build and operate systems that stream feature-flag configuration to SDKs globally in near real time. You will own well-scoped projects from design through production alongside senior engineers, using Go, AWS, Terraform, and Datadog.

You will ship features, design and rollout, fix production issues, write tests, and improve observability and reliability.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software-engineering experience building production services.
• Proficiency in at least one backend language (Go, Rust, Python, Java, etc.) and familiarity with a cloud platform (AWS or equivalent).
• Solid fundamentals in data structures, concurrency, API design, and testing.
• Experience debugging real production problems and a willingness to carry an on-call rotation.
• Working familiarity with observability tooling and comfort reading dashboards, logs, and traces.
• Ability to break down an ambiguous task, ask good questions, and drive it to done.
• Clear written and verbal communication, and a genuine interest in learning from feedback.

Responsibilities

• Build, ship, and operate features and services in Flag Delivery's streaming and polling infrastructure.
• Own well-scoped projects end to end: design, implementation, rollout, and the operational tail.
• Investigate and fix production issues, participating in the team's on-call rotation with support.
• Write maintainable, well-tested code and take part in code and design reviews.
• Improve the observability and reliability of the code you own.
• Collaborate with SDK Engineering, Data Platform, and product-engineering teams on work that crosses boundaries.
• Grow your depth in distributed systems and production operations with mentorship from senior engineers.
