Job summary

Silo Markets in New York City is seeking a Backend Engineer to join as the second engineering hire. You will own core platform components, including brokerage integrations, transaction systems, and the services and APIs powering daily customer interactions.

You will design, build, ship, and maintain meaningful systems end-to-end in a fast-moving startup, collaborating directly with the founders and taking ownership from concept to production while embracing ambiguity and ownership culture.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Backend services and API design in TS/Go.
• Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and API integrations.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship features across services, APIs, and tools from design to production.
• Design and develop reliable, scalable backend services powering accounts and data.
• Integrate with brokerages and financial data pipelines with high accuracy.
• Improve architecture, monitoring, deployments, and system performance.
• Take ownership in architectural decisions and engineering practices.
