Silo Markets in New York City is seeking a Backend Engineer to join as the second engineering hire. You will own core platform components, including brokerage integrations, transaction systems, and the services and APIs powering daily customer interactions.
You will design, build, ship, and maintain meaningful systems end-to-end in a fast-moving startup, collaborating directly with the founders and taking ownership from concept to production while embracing ambiguity and ownership culture.
Silo Markets is building a new kind of brokerage: one that rewards people for building wealth instead of constantly trading it away.
Our platform allows customers to earn rewards points on their investment portfolios, including stocks and ETFs, without requiring them to spend money or use a credit card. Those points can then be redeemed for travel and other rewards.
We're growing fast and are backed by leading venture capital firms, including Verdict Capital and Maveron.
We're a small, ambitious team building a financial platform that we believe can fundamentally change how people think about investing.
We're looking for a talented Backend Engineer to join as our second engineering hire.
You'll work directly with the founders and take significant ownership over our core platform, from the brokerage integrations and transaction systems to the services and APIs that power the experiences our customers interact with every day.
This isn't a role where you'll spend months working on one small piece of a much larger system. You'll have the opportunity to design, build, ship, and maintain meaningful systems from end to end.
We're looking for someone who moves quickly, thinks independently, takes pride in their work, and is comfortable navigating the ambiguity that comes with building an early‑stage company.
Base Salary: $120,000-$150,000 per year
Equity: Competitive stock option grant, based on experience and qualifications.
New York City, on‑site.
We're looking for someone who wants to do more than just write code. We want someone who enjoys solving hard problems, cares about building great products, and is excited to help shape a company from its early stages.
