As a Backend Engineer at Spade, you’ll own the APIs and data systems at the heart of our enrichment platform, collaborating across the stack to deliver reliable, low-latency services for billions of transactions.

Qualifications

• 4+ years building and scaling backend Python-based systems.
• REST APIs development and performant SQL.
• Experience with AWS infrastructure.
• Experience building systems from scratch in early-stage environments.
• Customer-focused with strong problem solving and ambiguity navigation.
• Collaborative mindset with willingness to be mentored and grow.
• Based in NYC, able to work from Flatiron office ≥2 days/week.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on our technical vision to build a product customers love.
• Develop and maintain low-latency, massively-scalable APIs and data platform.
• Design and implement systems that support product and company growth.
• Debug production issues across all levels of the stack.
• Bring a strong collaborative approach to deliver value to customers and internal stakeholders.
