Job summary

HockeyStack, an applied AI company focused on automating GTM analytics for B2B, seeks a Backend Engineer for the Reporting team to build and maintain backend systems that transform large GTM data into reliable reporting infrastructure for customers. This in-person role is based at our San Francisco HQ.

You will design and optimize complex SQL queries, develop Node.js/Express services, and boost query performance on ClickHouse, collaborating with Product and Frontend to deliver real-time

Responsibilities

• Own and continuously improve the backend systems powering all reporting features.
• Design, write, and maintain high-performance SQL queries, including long scripts.
• Develop and maintain Node.js/Express services transforming raw data to actionable output.
• Improve query performance across large datasets stored in ClickHouse and other systems.
• Collaborate with Product and Frontend teams to deliver real-time dashboards.
• Implement robust caching, edge-case handling, and reliability measures at scale.
• Ship features rapidly while upholding high quality standards.

Responsibilities

Own and continuously improve the backend systems that power all reporting features across the platform

Design, write, and maintain high-performance SQL queries — including some that span 500+ lines — to deliver critical GTM insights

Develop and maintain backend services in Node.js and Express that transform raw data into actionable output

Improve query performance across massive datasets stored in ClickHouse and other systems

Work cross-functionally with Product and Frontend teams to deliver accurate, real-time dashboards and insights

Implement robust caching strategies, edge-case handling, and reliability measures at scale

Ship fast and often — deploying to production frequently while maintaining high-quality standards
