Job summary

Binance.US is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and operate reliable Java-based services. You will own features through the full lifecycle, build scalable microservices, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into secure, high-performance systems.

You will design RESTful APIs, work with distributed systems, and ensure data integrity across relational or NoSQL databases.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Typically 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, or ~3+ years with an advanced degree.
Bilingual in English and Mandarin.
Strong experience developing production backend applications using Java and frameworks such as Spring/Spring Boot.
Experience designing RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases and data modeling, transactions, data integrity.
Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and deployment technologies such as AWS, Docker, Kubernetes.
Experience with event-driven systems and messaging/streaming (Kafka).
Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, OOD, concurrency, testing, and design patterns.
Experience building observability into production services and debugging distributed apps.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-quality backend services and APIs using Java and related technologies.
Own backend features and projects through the SDLC from design to deployment and maintenance.
Design scalable, reliable services for high-throughput applications with distributed systems principles.
Collaborate with Product, Infrastructure, Security, Compliance, and other Engineering teams.
Develop and integrate RESTful APIs, microservices, databases, messaging systems, and backend components.
Participate in design reviews and help improve architecture and code quality.
Build automated testing, monitoring, and observability into services for reliable production operations.
Investigate production issues, participate in incident response and RCAs.
Identify performance bottlenecks and debt, implement improvements for scalability and productivity.
