Job summary

Newfold Digital is seeking a backend engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable Python services and internal APIs on Linux, with MySQL as a backbone. You’ll own features, optimize queries, and help modernize legacy code, including Perl components.

You’ll work with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, well-tested backend solutions, influencing technical design and production incident response.

Qualifications

• Proven backend development experience with Python.
• Experience administering Linux-based production systems.
• Strong SQL and MySQL query optimization.
• Familiarity with Perl and cPanel is a plus.
• Ability to work across legacy and modern codebases.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and internal APIs in Python.
• Administer and troubleshoot Linux-based production systems.
• Write, optimize, and maintain MySQL queries and schemas.
• Review AI-generated code and ensure provenance and licensing compliance.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams.
