Job summary

Randstad Digital Americas is hiring for a backend engineer to help build and maintain services powering USD and CAD money movement. You will own specific features end-to-end, from problem understanding through delivery, rollout, and long-term operation.

The role emphasizes writing maintainable, well-tested code with observable outcomes and strong collaboration across teams. Familiarity with Kafka or cloud infra is a plus.

Qualifications

• Backend systems experience with Java or Kotlin, Spring Boot, microservices.
• Understanding of distributed systems, asynchronous processing and data consistency.
• Self-starting, collaborative, able to work independently.
• Strong communication with team and cross-functional partners.
• Bonus: Kafka, event-driven architecture or cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the services and partner integrations that power reliable USD and CAD money movement.
• Take end-to-end ownership of specific features from problem to delivery, rollout, and operations.
• Write maintainable, well-tested code with predictable delivery and observability.
• Participate in code reviews and share technical knowledge with peers.
• Apply a product mindset to align engineering tasks with customer outcomes and system quality.
