Job summary

Polymarket is seeking an early-career backend engineer to join the Markets automation team in New York. You will own and ship meaningful pipelines end-to-end, creating automation that keeps thousands of live markets accurate and timely. You’ll work alongside senior engineers, with a path to broader ownership as you grow.

You’ll contribute to data-driven systems and be part of a fast-moving environment where proactive problem solving and reliable code are valued highly.

Qualifications

• 1–4 years of backend engineering experience or equivalent internships with projects
• Strong in at least one of TypeScript, Python or Go; able to learn the others
• Experience integrating third-party APIs with real-world data
• Evidence you ship: production jobs, public repos, or running projects
• Comfort with AI-native tools (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) as part of workflow
• Ownership mindset: you run what you build and care when things break
• Familiarity with Linux and cloud tooling; quick to pick up new infra
• Plus: personal projects on Polymarket/Kalshi or prediction market APIs
• Plus: exposure to queues, streaming systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ), or workflow engines
• Plus: genuine interest in prediction markets, sports, or trading

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain automation pipelines for market creation, parameters, and lifecycle updates across thousands of markets
• Integrate external data sources (sports APIs, news feeds) driving market creation and resolution
• Design pipelines for reliability, idempotency, safe re-runs, and fast failure detection
• Contribute to data-driven systems that resolve markets accurately and on time
• Debug production failures across markets infrastructure under time pressure with senior support
• Review code and participate in design discussions as a full engineering team member
