Binance is seeking a hands-on Backend Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable Java services that power PIX payments in Brazil. You will own payment flows from initiation to reconciliation, work with Brazilian banks and providers, and ensure high availability and security in a fast-paced fintech environment.

The role emphasizes transaction correctness, performance, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver robust payment solutions.

Qualifications

• Hands-on backend development with Java and PIX, preferably using Spring Boot.
• Experience with Brazilian payment systems and bank integrations is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL; caching and messaging are a plus.

• Handle payment processing, including initiation, status, reconciliation, and error handling.

About the Role:

We are looking for a hands‑on engineer who enjoys writing code, solving complex backend problems, and building reliable payment systems. The ideal candidate takes ownership from development to production, is comfortable debugging real‑world issues, and can turn business requirements into robust technical solutions.

Experience with PIX is a strong advantage, but we also welcome strong Java backend engineers from payments, fintech, banking, and other transaction‑intensive environments who can quickly learn the Brazilian payment ecosystem.

What You'll Do:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot to support PIX payment integrations and related payment flows in Brazil.

• Implement and optimize payment processing capabilities, including payment initiation, transaction status management, reconciliation, and exception handling.

• Integrate with Brazilian banks, payment service providers, and external financial systems through APIs and other integration mechanisms.

• Build reliable, high-performance backend systems with a strong focus on transaction consistency, idempotency, fault tolerance, and system availability.

• Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions to improve system stability and performance.

• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and continuously improve the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of payment services.

• Support payment‑related security, risk control, and compliance requirements in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

What We're Looking For:

• Strong hands‑on backend development experience with Java and PIX, preferably using Spring Boot and related frameworks.

• Experience with PIX, Brazilian payment systems, or integrations with Brazilian banks and local payment service providers.

• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, distributed systems, and database design.

• Experience working with relational databases and SQL; familiarity with caching, messaging systems, and asynchronous processing is a plus.
