Job summary

Resend is building the modern email sending platform for developers. We are expanding the Core Sending Squad to handle millions of daily API requests, scale infrastructure to send tens of millions of emails per day, and improve high availability.

This fully remote role spans Americas and European time zones, with travel for off-sites. You will work with TypeScript and Golang, AWS, and event-driven systems at scale, owning critical services and on-call rotations.

Resend is growing fast, and there are now over 2 million developers using it. As the Core Sending Squad, we are responsible for building and maintaining the core components of Resend that handle sending transactional and marketing emails. This role is fully remote-based in Americas or European time zones, with some expected travel for team off-sites, conferences, meetups, and more. In this role, you will…

• Help define the architecture to support millions of daily API requests
• Build and scale infrastructure to send dozens of millions of emails per day
• Improve high availability across distributed applications
• Scale databases like Postgres and Clickhouse to ensure that they are performant
• Enhance observability by using monitoring tools like Datadog
• Refine disaster recovery plans to ensure that recovery is quick and reliable
• Help to build our infrastructure with IaC frameworks like CDK and TF
• Work with Typescript and Golang
• Design and operate async pipelines (queues, streams, idempotency, retries, DLQs) that move tens of millions of messages per day
• Be on-call rotation (for critical services)
