Job summary

Affirm is a remote-first technology company in the United States building post-transaction systems to resolve customer issues after card settlements. You will design, develop, and deploy backend services in Python or Kotlin, collaborating with product, design, and analytics to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.

Take ownership of tasks from planning through on-call support, participate in interviews, monitor metrics, and help ensure fast, accurate outcomes for customers across our platform.

Qualifications

• 1.5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience designing, developing and launching backend systems.
• Proficient in Python or Kotlin and familiar with distributed systems.
• Experience with AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Ability to work across product, design, and analytics teams.
• Strong communication and code review skills.

Responsibilities

• Break down projects into tasks and deliver in phases.
• Collaborate with product management, design and analytics on ideation and decisions.
• Support operations and on-call efforts; monitor metrics and reliability.
• Participate in interview processes to grow the team.
