Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Software Engineer II for the Client 360 team in the Commercial & Investment Bank. You will design and develop scalable backend systems that surface critical client data, work with data scientists and product managers, and help power intelligent client insights.

The role focuses on building data pipelines and services that unify client data, with emphasis on reliability, security, and performance in a fintech environment.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts with 2+ years applied experience
• Proficiency in Java and/or Python for backend development
• Hands-on experience with PySpark and Databricks for large-scale data processing
• Experience deploying applications on AWS (Lambda, S3, EC2, RDS)
• Experience with AI/machine learning models or AI-powered tooling in backend systems
• Familiarity with React or similar frontend frameworks for full-stack collaboration
• Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases; RESTful API design & microservices architecture

Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust, scalable backend services and APIs using Java and Python
• Build and optimize data pipelines using PySpark and Databricks for large financial data
• Deploy and manage AWS-based cloud infrastructure ensuring reliability and security
• Collaborate with data engineering, product, and analytics to deliver end-to-end solutions
• Integrate AI-powered tooling to accelerate development workflows
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and architecture planning
• Monitor and troubleshoot production issues to ensure high availability
• Contribute to engineering best practices and documentation
