Job summary

SpotDraft is transforming legal operations with AI-powered tools that speed up contract review and analysis. As a Backend Engineer on the AAI Pod, you will design and build scalable backend systems powering data/text extraction, RAG architectures, and AI features on our core platform.

You will collaborate with Product, Design, and AI teams, own end-to-end features, and ensure reliability, performance, and cost efficiency in production.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of backend/software engineering experience.
• Strong backend fundamentals with end-to-end product thinking.
• Hands-on system design experience (HLD & LLD).
• AI/ML exposure with RAG pipelines or production LLM integrations.
• Experience with data/text extraction pipelines is core to the work.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable backend systems for AI-powered features with reliability and performance.
• Own end-to-end system design for extraction pipelines and AI integration.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and AI teams to ship impactful features.
• Own features and systems from ideation to production and beyond, ensuring uptime.
• Mentor teammates and contribute to hiring and raising engineering standards.
