Job summary

Smarsh is seeking a Software Engineer for the Ingestion Team to design, build, and operate high-throughput backend services that reliably capture, process, and archive client data. You will work with Product, Engineering, and Site Reliability to deliver resilient systems and improve operations.

The role emphasizes reliability, security, and performance at scale. You will design scalable architectures, contribute to on-call incident response, and advance observability, CI/CD, and DevOps

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Experience with high-volume messaging and queuing systems.
  • Knowledge of backend technologies (C#, Java, .NET Core or similar).
  • Familiarity with observability, metrics, logs, tracing, and alerts.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate high-availability backend services.
  • Contribute to incident response and prevention.
  • Develop observability with metrics, logs, and dashboards.
  • Deploy and manage services in Kubernetes.
  • Troubleshoot production issues to improve resilience.
  • Review code and reduce technical debt.
  • Collaborate across Product, Engineering, and Site Reliability.
  • Stay current with new technologies and AI-assisted development.
