Mercor seeks an experienced backend engineer to design and operate multi-stage workflows powering AI data pipelines. You will build scalable orchestration for expert review steps and automated processing, ensuring reliability and debuggability in production.

You will collaborate with product, operations, and ML teams to translate constraints into robust system designs, owning end-to-end delivery and improvements.

Competenze

• Production backend experience with strong opinions about what ages well and why.
• Fluent in distributed systems with async workflows, queues, retries, and idempotency.
• Comfort with Python on AWS and PostgreSQL; Temporal or similar workflow engines a plus.

Mansioni

• Design services and state models for multi-stage workflows and orchestration.
• Build orchestration primitives for long-running jobs with retries and fault tolerance.
• Integrate model inference into production workflows with maintainable tooling.
