Job summary

Harbinger Motors is seeking a Software Engineer, Enterprise Applications (Backend) to design, develop, and scale our vehicle data platforms and analytics pipelines. You’ll build robust APIs and keep data secure across distributed services while collaborating with data scientists and frontend teams.

The role emphasizes cloud deployments, IaC, and scalable architecture in a fast-moving EV environment. A strong background in backend tech and data handling is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of software development experience with a strict focus on backend engineering, distributed systems, or cloud architecture.
• Proficiency in backend programming languages such as Python, Java, Go, C++, or Node.js.
• Deep understanding of relational and NoSQL database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis) and strong experience optimizing complex queries and database performance.
• Extensive experience with RESTful API design, microservices architecture, and building resilient distributed systems.
• Fluency in infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and modern cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
• Strong cybersecurity practices, secure coding, and data privacy awareness.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain the core backend systems powering data and simulation applications.
• Build and manage high-performance APIs (REST, GraphQL, or gRPC) for data exchange between microservices and front-end interfaces.
• Implement ETL pipelines for data processing and analytics while ensuring data integrity and security.
• Optimize server performance, queries, and cloud infrastructure for scalability and low latency.
• Architect and manage scalable cloud deployments using infrastructure as code.
• Collaborate with embedded systems engineers, data scientists, and front-end developers to deliver cohesive software solutions and continuous improvement.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation of system architecture, data models, and APIs.
