Job summary

Swoop Technologies seeks a backend developer to build services and features interfacing with SwoopOS, frontend, and infrastructure teams. You will craft Python packages and SDKs for internal and external use, ensuring high availability across production Kubernetes environments.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years backend experience, strong Python skills, and familiarity with data models, security norms, and scalable APIs. This hybrid role is based in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in CS or related field.
• 3+ years backend development experience.
• Proficient Python coding with data structures knowledge.
• Experience with Kubernetes in production.

Responsibilities

• Develop and build new services and features, working closely internally with our firmware team to interface with the SwoopOS, frontend team to support our web application, and infrastructure team to deliver a stable product to market.
• Design and build SDKs for internal and external use, working with 3rd parties as they develop applications to run on our OS.
• Author new Python packages for common functionality used across multiple services.
• Ensure our services have strong availability and service level agreements across our code base, especially as it pertains to the runtime of our Kubernetes cluster in production.
• Tune data storage configurations to optimize for scale and near real-time availability in a streaming architecture.
