Job summary

Mercor is seeking a Backend Engineer to build core platform systems with a focus on Contracts and Identity & Access. You will own robust infrastructure enabling Experts to perform work, get paid, and securely access the platform from New York.

You'll collaborate with a fast-moving engineering team across identity, security, and platform tooling, contributing to scalable backend services and secure operations at Mercor's New York Office at One World Trade Center.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience building production systems at scale.
• Experience with identity, access control, or enterprise access management systems is a strong plus.
• Ability to work across ambiguous requirements and deliver practical, reliable systems quickly.
• High ownership mindset and willingness to work on foundational problems that support many parts of the business.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend infra for platform operations, including contracts, payouts, fraud workflows.
• Collaborate with leads and partners to build reliable, scalable backend services.
• Enhance security, reliability, and developer ergonomics across Mercor's core systems.
• Work across teams on high-priority platform initiatives.
