Job summary

CBTS in Irving, TX seeks a senior backend engineer to design, build, and operate integrations between clients and MarTech/ad-tech vendors. You will develop REST and streaming APIs, and create tooling for marketers and analysts to work with data without engineering bottlenecks.

Collaborating with data platform, DevOps, and InfoSec, you will ensure secure data contracts, reliable ingestion, and scalable services.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building backend services and APIs (Node.js, Spring/Java, Python)
• 3+ years integrating third-party/vendor APIs and data feeds with authentication patterns (OAuth, IAM)
• 3+ years with data pipelines and stores — SQL and NoSQL, batch and streaming (Kafka/Kinesis)
• 3+ years with cloud services architecture (S3, IAM, serverless); Databricks/lakehouse a plus
• Familiarity with containerized tooling and deployments (Docker/Kubernetes)
• Ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

Job description

• Design, build, and operate integrations between client and third-party MarTech/ad-tech vendors (retail media, in-store media, audience activation, measurement)
• Build and maintain REST/event-driven APIs (read, push, pull) and batch and streaming data feeds into and out of the enterprise data lake and activation platforms
• Develop business-friendly interfaces and tooling on top of the orchestration layer so marketers and analysts can operate without engineering involvement
• Partner with the data platform, DevOps, and InfoSec teams to land, secure, and govern external data (e.g., cross-account ingestion, data contracts, schema validation)
• Translate vendor API contracts and data specs into reliable, well-tested, production-ready services
• Leverage AI-assisted development tooling to accelerate delivery without sacrificing quality
• Deliver on time with a high bar on reliability, data quality, and engineering craft

Qualifications:

• 5+ years building backend services and APIs (Node.js, Spring/Java, Python, or similar)
• 3 years minimum integrating third-party/vendor APIs and data feeds, including authentication patterns (OAuth, IAM roles, cross-account access)
• 3 years minimum (5 years would be nice) with data pipelines and stores — SQL and NoSQL, batch and streaming (e.g., Kafka/Kinesis, Auto Loader, COPY INTO)
• 3 years minimum with cloud services architXX (S3, IAM, serverless functions, compute); experience with Databricks / lakehouse patterns a strong plus
• Familiarity with containerized tooling and deployments (Docker/Kubernetes)
• Ability to communicate complex technical information to all stakeholders, including non-technical business partners

Nice To Have:

• Working knowledge of frontend frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue.js) sufficient to build internal/business-facing tooling
• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science / Engineering / Math, or relevant experience
