Responsibilities

Constructor is an AI-first e-commerce search and discovery platform that helps shoppers find the right products at the right time and enables global e-commerce brands to increase revenue and conversion. The SABR team owns the top layer of product discovery request processing, public configuration APIs, and the MCP layer that exposes these capabilities to AI agents.

Own the technical direction, architecture, performance, and reliability of one or more services Lead the design of new systems and public APIs, and evolve existing ones as traffic and feature scope grow Raise engineering standards through design and code reviews, and mentor mid-level and senior engineers Partner with product, engineering, solutions, and support teams to shape the product and communicate search constraints and trade-offs Participate in on-call for owned systems, lead incident response, and follow through on resolutions

Substantial experience building and operating high-traffic, low-latency backend services in production Extensive Python knowledge Experience with observability and performance work in live systems Experience designing and evolving public APIs used by external customers Experience designing and implementing scalable service-oriented architectures Track record of leading projects spanning multiple engineers and quarters Ability to influence without authority and reconsider positions when presented with a better argument Clear written communication, including design documents, RFCs, and postmortems Good judgment about trade-offs and scope Comfort with ambiguity and loosely defined problems Ownership that extends beyond code merge to production system behavior Будет плюсом: AWS experience, search, ranking, information retrieval, or e-commerce product discovery background, exposure to AI/LLM-facing infrastructure such as MCP or agent tooling
