Job summary

Yggdrasil is seeking a backend developer with strong mathematical skills to build and maintain game backend systems, models, and logic. You will implement game features, run tests, and collaborate with diverse teams to deliver high-quality software.

Responsibilities include designing game mechanics, licensing-compliant features, and analyzing data to inform improvements and new mechanics in ongoing projects.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of commercial backend development experience in languages such as Java, Kotlin, TypeScript/Node.js or C#.
• Strong mathematical skills including probability, statistics and algorithms.
• Hands-on experience with unit and integration testing.
• Ability to collaborate in agile, cross-functional teams.
• Good command of English (written and spoken).

Key Skills

Nice to have:

• Experience with backend development for online casino / iGaming products
• Familiarity with video slot mechanics and slot math models (RTP, volatility, hit frequency, pay tables)
• Experience designing game mechanics or mathematical models for games
• Ability to test and validate mathematical outcomes using MS Excel, programming, and proprietary tools to guarantee accuracy and quality
• Understanding of Docker and containerization
• Understanding of licensing and regulatory requirements in regulated gaming markets
