Vantor Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Backend Developer to join our Intel sector, supporting national security initiatives through advanced technological solutions. This role is integral to designing, developing, and maintaining sophisticated software applications and APIs that enhance our capabilities in spatial intelligence and data analysis. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for emerging technologies, thrive in a collaborative environment, and demonstrate a strong commitment to security and performance excellence. This position requires an active U.S. Government security clearance at the TS/SCI level with CI Polygraph, and U.S. citizenship is mandatory for eligibility.
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and have at least five years of professional experience in software development. An active TS/SCI security clearance with CI Polygraph is essential. Proficiency in Java and Python programming languages, along with experience with associated frameworks such as Spring Boot, Flask, or Django, is required. The candidate should have a solid understanding of API architectural styles like REST, GraphQL, and SOAP, and be familiar with API development tools such as Postman and Swagger UI. Experience working with both SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL), version control systems like Git, and knowledge of software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum are also necessary. Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and problem-solving skills are highly valued.
Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable and secure software applications and APIs using Java and Python, ensuring clean, efficient, and well-documented code. Architect and implement RESTful APIs and microservices, facilitating seamless communication between various systems and integrating third-party services as needed. Manage data storage and retrieval by working with a variety of database systems, including both SQL and NoSQL solutions. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers, product managers, and QA specialists, to define requirements, develop components, and ensure overall system functionality. Optimize system performance, troubleshoot issues, and enforce security best practices across all development activities, particularly in data handling and API authentication. If applicable, implement and integrate cloud services and APIs for cloud-native solutions, supporting deployment and scalability. Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements for existing applications and APIs, ensuring operational stability and continuous improvement.
