Job summary

SFE is seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to build a high-performance API-based backend platform and reliable data services.

Responsibilities include RESTful API design, secure API gateways, and cloud-native development on AWS/GCP with IaC. The role emphasizes encryption, key management, monitoring, and scalable microservices architecture.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in building concurrent, high‑performance services using Go/Java/Python.
• Deep understanding of REST API design principles, HTTP methods, and status codes.
• Experience with OAuth 2.0, JWT, and API key management.
• Knowledge of service-to-service communication, circuit breakers, and retries.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and GCP services (Compute, Serverless, Containers, KMS).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, IaC, monitoring and logging.
• Understanding of cloud-agnostic design patterns for multi-cloud setups.
• Strong knowledge of data encryption concepts, key management and TLS/SSL/mTLS.

Key Responsibilities:

API Development & Integration

• Design and implement RESTful APIs for data access and system integration
• Build robust API gateways, service mesh architectures, authentication, authorization for API services

Cloud-Native Development

• Deploy and manage applications on AWS, GCP and hybrid cloud platforms
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using cloud-native tools and services
• Develop monitoring frameworks for reliable operations

Secure systems

• Implement data encryption at rest and in transit using industry-standard protocols
• Design and manage symmetric and asymmetric key infrastructure
• Build secure key management systems and rotation policies

Database Systems

• Strong understanding of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL) with encryption capabilities
• Experience with message brokers (Apache Kafka)
• Understanding of monitoring and observability (Prometheus, Grafana)

Required Technical Skills:

• Key security concepts including Symmetric/Asymmetric encryption, Key Management(HSM, Key rotation), Digital Signatures, TLS/SSL/mTLS, Hash functions
