Job summary

VTG Defense is seeking a talented Back-End Software Developer to join our team in Chantilly, VA or Herndon, VA. You will design, develop, and maintain high-quality software applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet customer needs.

The ideal candidate has hands-on development experience with Java, C++, Python, or JavaScript, plus RESTful APIs and database design. You will contribute to scalable, secure, and performant systems in an agile environment."

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience delivering software applications.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript, or Ruby.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and database design.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy software applications using appropriate programming languages and technologies.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code that adheres to best practices and coding standards.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure code quality and consistency across the development team.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Ensure the scalability, security, and performance of software applications through proper design and implementation.
• Participate in agile development methodologies, including sprint planning, stand-up meetings, and retrospective.
• Document software designs, processes, and configuration to facilitate knowledge sharing and maintain an up-to-date repository of technical documentation.
