Job summary

VT Group seeks a talented Back-End Software Developer to join our team in Chantilly, VA or Herndon, VA. You will design, develop, and maintain high-quality software applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions.

The role emphasizes hands-on coding in Java, C++, Python, or similar languages, RESTful APIs, and modern frameworks. You will participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to secure, reliable software delivery.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience as a software developer delivering software applications.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Java, C++, Python, JavaScript, Ruby).
• Strong understanding of OO design, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
• Experience with frameworks/tools such as Spring Boot (Java), .NET, React, Angular, and Django.
• Familiar with SQL databases and designing/optimizing schemas.
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to collaborate with team and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy software applications using appropriate programming languages and technologies.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code that adheres to best practices and coding standards.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure code quality and consistency.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Ensure the scalability, security, and performance of software applications.
• Participate in agile development methodologies, including sprint planning, stand-up meetings, and retrospective.
• Document software designs, processes, and configuration to facilitate knowledge sharing.
