Job summary

Florida Housing Finance Corporation is seeking an experienced Back-End Software Engineer to join our .NET team, focusing on application logic, business rules, and features across our product portfolio.

You will work alongside teammates handling infrastructure, cloud services, and UI/UX, with the flexibility to collaborate across the stack. The ideal candidate will have strong C#/.NET skills, experience with EF Core, and a focus on secure, testable code.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience in C# and the .NET ecosystem
• Experience with ASP.NET Core and Razor Pages (or MVC/Minimal APIs)
• Strong understanding of HTTP fundamentals and API design principles
• Knowledge of authentication/authorization concepts (OIDC, OAuth 2.0)
• Experience with Entity Framework Core and SQL performance considerations
• Experience with caching strategies in a .NET app (in-memory/distributed)
• Experience implementing structured logging with .NET Extensions.Logging/ILogger
• Secure coding practices per OWASP Top 10 and NIST guidelines
• Proficiency with Git and collaborative pull request workflows
• Experience writing unit and integration tests (xUnit/NUnit) with Moq/NSubstitute

Responsibilities

• Design and build application features and business logic using .NET 10 (C#), ASP.NET Core, and Razor Pages
• Work with authentication and authorization patterns (OIDC / OAuth 2.0) including claims-based authorization
• Write semantic, structured application logs using standard .NET logging patterns
• Implement caching strategies to improve performance and reduce DB load
• Work daily with Entity Framework Core against evolving relational schema, including SQL reasoning
• Write unit and integration tests (xUnit or NUnit) with mocks
• Design, consume, and contribute to shared internal libraries
• Apply secure coding practices aligned with OWASP Top 10 and NIST guidelines
• Communicate configuration and env variable requirements to infrastructure
• Participate in code reviews and collaborate across the engineering team
• Use AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) while applying sound engineering judgment
• Troubleshoot and resolve application-level defects across environments
