Job summary

Colorado Custom Stone is seeking an experienced CNC BACA Operator to join our stone fabrication team on-site in Denver. You will operate the BACA SawJet to convert shop drawings and cutting files into precisely cut components, ensuring quality while maintaining safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC equipment, a bridge saw, waterjet, or similar fabrication machinery.
• Direct BACA SawJet and stone fabrication experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to read shop drawings, verify measurements, and work accurately with fractions, decimals, and dimensional requirements.
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort using computer-based machine controls.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the BACA SawJet. Review work orders, shop drawings, dimensions, and cutting files before starting each job.
• Plan accurate, efficient cuts. Verify slab material, thickness, orientation, and layout to reduce waste and meet project requirements.
• Handle materials safely. Load, position, and unload slabs and cut pieces using approved lifting equipment and handling procedures.
• Check quality throughout production. Inspect dimensions, cutouts, and cut quality; identify defects early; and label and stage completed pieces for the next operation.
• Keep equipment production-ready. Perform routine operator maintenance, cleaning, and consumable checks. Troubleshoot basic issues and promptly communicate problems requiring additional support.
• Support a safe, organized shop. Follow machine-guarding, dust-control, and personal protective equipment requirements, coordinate with the fabrication team, and assist with related production tasks.

Colorado Custom Stone is hiring a CNC BACA Operator to join our stone fabrication team. We produce custom commercial countertops and architectural elements using natural stone, quartz, and thin porcelain slabs.

In this hands-on role, you’ll operate our BACA Robo SawJet, which combines saw and waterjet cutting, to turn shop drawings and cutting files into accurately cut components. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in quality work, handles materials carefully, and helps keep production moving safely and efficiently.

What You’ll Do

• Set up and operate the BACA SawJet. Review work orders, shop drawings, dimensions, and cutting files before starting each job.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience operating CNC equipment, a bridge saw, waterjet, or similar fabrication machinery. Direct BACA SawJet and stone fabrication experience are strongly preferred.

• Mechanical aptitude and comfort using computer-based machine controls. Experience with cutting files, slab layouts, nesting, or BACA software is a plus.
