Job summary

Million Dollar Baby Co. is seeking an Assistant Store Manager for our Babyletto flagship in California.

You will support business performance, deliver an elevated client experience, and develop the store team while partnering with the Store Manager to ensure consistency and smooth day-to-day operations. The role starts in September and requires 3+ years in retail management with a proven ability to develop talent, strong leadership, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in retail management.
• Experience in furniture, baby, or design showrooms is a plus.
• Proven ability to develop store talent and coach staff.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Flexible schedule including weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide product and design assistance to potential parents and families.
• Maintain a welcoming store environment and deliver exceptional service.
• Model and coach team on clientele, selling, and communication standards.
• Collaborate with Store Manager on opportunities and action plans to drive sales.
• Review performance data and share insights with the Store Manager.
• Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and coaching the team.
• Oversee daily operations including opening/closing and issue escalation.

About the role

As an Assistant Store Manager at Babyletto, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our flagship retail location! Your role will focus on business performance, delivering an elevated client experience, and developing the store team while representing Babyletto’s core values. You’ll act as a proactive partner to the Store Manager, ensuring consistency, accountability, and smooth day-to-day operations.

What you’ll be doing

• Provide product and design assistance to potential parents and growing families
• Maintain a welcoming store environment and provide exceptional service to every guest
• Model and coach team members on clientele, selling, and communication standards
• Collaborate with Store Manager to assess business opportunities and develop clear action plans to drive sales results
• Review performance data weekly and share insights and next steps with the Store Manager
• Connect and build relationships in Design Trade
• Support recruiting, onboarding, and coaching to build a strong, reliable team bench
• Take ownership of daily operations, including opening / closing procedures and issue escalation.
• This role is targeted to start in September

What you bring to the table

• 3+ years of experience in retail management. Experience in furniture, baby, or design showrooms is a plus
• Proven record in developing store talent
• Strong leadership abilities, with a confident sales floor presence that inspires and motivates others
• Natural passion for families, children, and community building
• Genuine interest in company culture and building strong relationships with both team and customers
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Familiarity with Shopify is a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Can perform effectively on sales floor, which includes standing for long periods of time, kneeling, bending, and squatting
• Ability to lift small-medium items up to 25 lbs utilizing proper techniques
• Flexible Schedule; Available to work on weekends and holidays as needed.

• Eligible for a performance-based bonus of up to $500/quarter, or $2,000 annually

California pay range: $28 USD - $35 USD
