Job summary

B4 Church in Beaverton, OR is seeking a Custodian to join our facilities team. You will help keep our campus safe and clean, with duties assigned by our Facilities Lead and scheduled on an as-needed basis.

The role involves custodial maintenance, sanitizing, restocking supplies, and assisting ministry events, while maintaining confidentiality and arriving on time. This position is on-site and integral to daily church operations.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare facilities for scheduled and unscheduled events and daily church operations as instructed by Supervisor.
• Perform custodial maintenance: replenishing restroom supplies, dusting, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming.
• Perform custodial sanitizing: cleaning floors, walls, sinks, toilets, kitchens, etc.
• Remove trash and debris; clean refuse containers.
• Use, care for, restock and store chemicals, products and equipment.
• Identify safety/security concerns and report to Supervisor.
• Assist ministry leaders, staff and volunteers with setup and cleanup needs.
• Maintain confidentiality with private offices and sensitive data.
• Accountable for use of time and fulfilling responsibilities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

• A confessing Christian who holds to International Church of the Foursquare Gospel statement of faith. Commitment to an ethical lifestyle appropriate for ministry per employee handbook.
• Able to maintain a high level of integrity, discernment and discretion in caring for people and with sensitive information.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills when working with others [namely supervisor, other staff, volunteers, and contractors as required].
• Ability to initiate, organize, complete, and follow up on applicable project work. Able to creatively problem solve if issues arise.
• Self-motivated to study and improve knowledge and skill in areas of responsibility as needed. Teachable.
• Experience with correspondence through email. Willingness and aptitude to learn and use necessary computer programs & applications.

Essential Functions

• Prepare facilities for scheduled and unscheduled events and daily church operations as instructed by Supervisor.
• Perform a variety of custodial maintenance duties including: replenishing restroom paper products and soap; dusting, mopping, sweeping, and vacuuming floors; and/or performing related activities.
• Perform a variety of custodial sanitizing duties including: cleaning and disinfecting floors, walls, windows, sinks, counters, toilets, shower areas, kitchens, water fountains, woodwork, furniture, art intake screens/ louvers, fixtures, appliances, and/or performing other related activities.
• Remove trash and debris from buildings, sidewalks, porches, steps, and entryways; clean refuse containers.
• Use, understand, care for, restock, and store chemicals, products, and equipment.
• Identify safety/ security concerns and report them to Supervisor.
• Assist ministry leaders, other staff, and volunteers in service and activities set-up, clean-up, and other facilities needs.
• Maintain confidentiality associated with working in private offices, including but not limited to private, personal, sensitive, and confidential data.
• Accountable for use of time and fulfilling responsibilities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
