Job summary

Crate & Barrel is seeking an Assistant Designer, B2B to support the Product Design and Development team in shaping the company’s future through innovative design. Based in our Northbrook, IL office, this on-site role includes the option to work remotely on Fridays, collaborating with vendors and cross-functional partners.

You will assist with personalization merchandise, prepare external client pitch decks, and help manage technical briefs and sample development from concept to CAD renderings.

Qualifications

• 1+ years experience with technical design and design brief creation.
• Strong hand sketching and idea generation.
• BFA or MA in Industrial Design, Furniture Design, Interior Design or related field.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director throughout the product design process
• Coordinate Personalization process and vendor communications
• Support a seamless design process across teams
• Manage product design information through cycles
• Create technical specs via CAD and hand rendering
• Contribute designs across furniture, lighting, decor, tabletop
• Create pitch decks for external clients
• Participate in special design projects
• Support excellent service to internal and external customers
