Job summary

Stuart Rush is seeking a production operator for a versatile shop-floor role involving multiple processes, including spot welding, sawing, deburring, drilling and induction heat treating.

You will interpret schedules, set up machines, inspect parts to print, and ensure accurate data entry for daily production reports. The position requires lifting up to 40 lbs and dependable attendance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 1–2 years related experience or training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define parts numbers from scheduling data to run.
• Determine setup needs using route sheet, tool routing, inspection plan and part print.
• Set up machine using tooling and gauges from setup box and standard tooling.
• Verify parts are to print using inspection plan and measuring instruments.
• Handle and stack parts to prevent damage during handling.
• Record quantities, time, burden and scrap on pink cards and daily reports.
• Move completed work to the next operation when a bin is full or order is complete.

Position Overview:

Work-center includes: Spot Welder/Saw/Wet Belt Sander/Broach/Punch Press/Deburr/Drills/Induction Heat Treat

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Use information provided by scheduling to define the parts numbers needed to run.
• Use route sheet, tool routing, inspection plan and part print to determine setup needed.
• Setup machine using tooling and gages from setup box and standard machine tooling.
• Ensure parts are to print using inspection plan, routing, print. After first piece validation, the operator is responsible for checking part accuracy to print specifications. This is done using standard gages, bench centers, height gages, micrometers, calipers, comparators, and any specialized gages.
• Operators will put parts into bins, stacking parts that could be damaged by improper handling.
• At the end of each shift the fill in the quantity completed on a pink card and the daily work report. The operator will then enter quantity and time on each job into the computer, also any burden and scrap parts.
• When a bin is filled or the work order quantity has been reached, the operator will put the completed pink card and routing sheet into the bin for transfer to the next operation.

Requirements

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit.
• Ability to lift/lower/push/pull up to 40 lbs. safely
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
