Job summary

Yoh, a Day & Zimmermann company, is seeking an Azure Systems Engineer (IaC/Terraform) in McKinney, TX. This hybrid, 6-month contract-to-hire role focuses on Azure infrastructure, Terraform, networking, and PowerShell automation to support production environments and CI/CD pipelines.

You will work with DevOps to improve release readiness and operational reliability, while maintaining runbooks, SOPs, and security/compliance practices. The position offers comprehensive benefits upon employment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related) or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in Systems Engineering / Infrastructure / IT Operations.
• Strong hands-on experience supporting Azure in production.
• Strong Terraform experience building/managing cloud infrastructure as code.
• Strong PowerShell scripting/automation experience.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, etc.).
• Experience with monitoring/observability tools (Splunk, Azure Monitor, Dynatrace).
• Solid networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, IP addressing) and strong troubleshooting skills.
• Proven ability to document, create runbooks, and support production operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational support for production Azure environments, acting as escalation point for complex infra issues and driving root-cause analysis.
• Build, enhance, and standardize Azure infrastructure using Terraform (IaC) for repeatable deployments.
• Support and troubleshoot Azure networking (VNets, subnets, NSGs, routing, DNS, connectivity).
• Identify repeatable tasks and reduce toil using PowerShell automation (scripts, runbooks).
• Partner with DevOps/engineering to support CI/CD and release workflows ensuring deployments are tested and operationally ready.
• Implement and maintain monitoring/observability using tools like Azure Monitor, Splunk, Dynatrace.
• Ensure runbooks/SOPs, validation steps, and support docs are in place prior to production releases.
• Assist with audits, evidence collection, remediation, and security/regulatory adherence.

This role blendshands-on operational supportandproject deliveryto keep core cloud platformsstable, secure, and scalable. Required Qualifications
