Job summary

Pinnacle Consulting & Recruitment is seeking an Azure Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate the Azure infrastructure for a next‑generation RCM platform and an AI‑powered medical coding product.

You will work with an AI Architect to translate architecture into secure, HIPAA‑compliant production infrastructure, with code‑driven deployments, monitoring, and reliable operations. Detroit area, on‑site role with strong automation focus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or DevOps with at least 3 years building/operating production workloads on Azure.
• Healthcare or regulated industry experience (HIPAA, SOC 2, HITRUST, or PCI) is strongly preferred.
• Strong automation and IaC background with security and governance focus.
• Hands-on experience deploying AI infrastructure in production (e.g., Azure OpenAI, AI Foundry, or similar).

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Azure landing zones, management groups, subscriptions, RBAC, Azure Policy, hub-and-spoke networking, private endpoints, and DNS.
• Define environments with Terraform or Bicep including reusable modules, remote state, and drift control.
• Provision and operate Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, Azure AI Search, and model endpoints; manage quotas and networking.
• Deploy and operate containerized services with AKS or Azure Container Apps; manage APIs via Azure API Management.
• Build and secure data infra: Azure SQL, Data Lake Storage, Data Factory/Fabric, Service Bus, Event Grid.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions with environment promotion and rollback.
• Enforce HIPAA/compliance controls; manage Entra ID, Key Vault, encryption, Defender for Cloud, audit logging.
• Implement monitoring/observability with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights; plan DR/BCP.
• Cost management: tagging, budgets, cost reporting; monitor OpenAI consumption and spend.
• Collaborate with AI Architect/Data Integration Engineer; maintain runbooks and environment standards.
