AZURE INTEGRATIONS DEVELOPER

Engagement Type: Contract-to-Hire (5-Month Conversion Window)

Location: Charlotte, NC area strongly preferred (Onsite/Hybrid flexibility; Open to ET hours)

Target Conversion Salary: Open / Market-aligned (Mid-level to Senior)

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced Azure Integrations Developer to serve as the core middleware engineer for an enterprise Microsoft Dynamics 365 implementation.

This is a hands-on, focused middleware development role responsible for building, optimizing, and maintaining the integration layer connecting D365 (F&O and CE), Shopify, InRiver PIM, legacy applications, and third-party platforms. The developer will work closely with internal technology leads and external implementation partners (BDO) to ensure reliable, high-volume system-to-system data movement across the enterprise.

The ideal candidate is a dedicated Azure Integration Specialist (not a generalist .NET app developer) who can clearly articulate their personal contributions to complex integration architectures and build robust enterprise workflows within the Microsoft ecosystem.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Middleware Development & Integration Architecture

• Design, build, and deploy reliable middleware solutions using Azure Integration Services, including Azure Logic Apps, Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Grid, Azure Functions, and Power Automate.
• Configure complex routing, data transformations, asynchronous messaging, workflow automation, and event-driven data movement between systems.
• Consume and integrate REST APIs, webhooks, and OData endpoints exposed by Dynamics 365, Shopify, InRiver, and legacy databases.
• Write custom C# and .NET Core integration code where low-code solutions require extension.

System Reliability, Logging & Monitoring

• Implement enterprise-grade error handling, retry logic, dead-lettering, logging, and failure recovery protocols to guarantee zero data loss.
• Establish monitoring and alerting routines across all Azure integration components to proactively identify and resolve pipeline bottlenecks.
• Support Integration Testing, System Integration Testing (SIT), defect resolution, cutover execution, and post-go-live stabilization.

Collaboration & Documentation

• Partner directly with internal system architects, functional leads, and third‑party implementation vendors (BDO) to refine integration requirements.
• Author and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including data mapping matrices, sequence diagrams, dependency charts, and operational runbooks.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Core Technical Skills

• Hands‑on Azure Middleware Expertise: Deep, practical experience architecting and implementing solutions using Azure Logic Apps and Azure Service Bus.
• Azure Ecosystem: Proficiency with Azure Functions, Event Grid, Power Automate, and API Management (APIM).
• Development Background: Strong C# and .NET Core development skills with hands‑on expertise parsing JSON, XML, handling authentication protocols (OAuth, API Keys), and working with RESTful API architecture.
• Communication & Technical Ownership: Demonstrated ability to articulate, step‑by‑step, the specific design, logic, and code written on prior enterprise integration projects.

Preferred Experience

• Microsoft Dynamics 365 Integration Experience: Direct experience moving data in/out of D365 F&O and/or D365 CE (Strongly Preferred).
• E‑Commerce & PIM Integration: Hands‑on experience integrating with Shopify and/or InRiver PIM (or similar PIM solutions).
• Industry Domain Experience: Prior background supporting enterprise integrations within retail, distribution, CPG, or manufacturing environments.
• X++ Familiarity: Basic understanding of X++ is a minor plus for future system roadmap items, but not required.

CANDIDATE SELECTION CRITERIA

• Middleware Focus: This role requires a specialist dedicated to Azure integration services, messaging patterns, and API orchestration - not general full‑stack web or application development.
• Azure-First Stack: Candidate must possess primary expertise in Azure. AWS‑or GCP‑exclusive integration experience without deep Azure Service Bus/Logic Apps knowledge will not meet the client’s needs.
